This specimen was lot 33469 in Heritage sale 3114 (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $3,120. The lot description[1] noted, "France: Louis XIV gold Louis d'Or 1659-B MS61 PCGS, Rouen mint. An elusive type and the only graded example known to PCGS. Due to its fine state of preservation, it possess wonderous detail and full legends. The surfaces are graced with a bright lemon-champagne toning to act as the perfect canvas." The louis d'or au buste juvénile was struck at several mints 1659-69. There are no common dates. The SCWC does not list this date for Rouen but mentions a 1659-B louis d'or à la mèche longue.

Recorded mintage: 1,120[2].

Specification: 6.75 g, 0.917 fine gold, plain edge, designed by Jean Warin.
