The specimen shown is a écu à la mèche longue struck at Rouen during the reign of Louis XIV of France. It was lot 1144 in CGB sale 31 (Paris, June 2007). The type was issued in large numbers 1646-54. Droulers[1] prices this date about 10% more than the common 1652-A. The second specimen was lot 74679 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[2] noted, "FRANCE. Ecu, 1652-B. Rouen Mint. Louis XIV. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, EF Details."

Recorded mintage: 589,603[1].

Specification: 27.45 g, 0.917 fine silver, 39-41 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Jean Warin.
