Stack's Bowers February 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72731

This specimen was lot 72731 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "FINLAND. 200 Markkaa, 1958-H. Helsinki Mint. ICG MS-66. A beautiful Gem, with resplendent luster and a blazing argent nature." This is a common date of a common type struck 1956-59. The previous issue of this denomination, in 1926 (KM 29), was in gold.

Recorded mintage: 1,477,000 with mintmaster "H" plus 34,000 with mintmaster "S".

Specification: 8.30 g, 0.500 fine silver, 27.5 mm diameter.
