Steve Album sale 38, lot 3323
Finland SA38-3323r.jpg

This specimen was lot 3323 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $77.35. The catalog description[1] noted, "FINLAND: Nicholas II, 1894-1917, AE 10 penniä, 1914, a lovely bright red lustrous example! NGC graded MS65 RD." This type was struck by the tsarist regime for Finland 1895-1900 and 1905-17. The early dates are scarce but the WWI issues are common. The ten penniä struck after independence (KM 24) was a much smaller coin, only 5 grams.

Recorded mintage: 605,000, a somewhat better date.

Specification: 12.8 g, copper, 30 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-14.
