This specimen was lot 70534 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "FINLAND. 10 Pennia, 1900. Nicholas II. NGC MS-64 Brown. This richly toned survivor exhibits a bold strike with a nice cartwheel effect and much originality." This type is listed for 1895-1900, 1905-17 and is the last issue of this denomination under the Tsarist regime. This date is fairly common but not as available as the wartime issues. Russian defeats in World War One enabled the Finns, who had long chafed under Russian rule, to declare independence.

Recorded mintage: 524,000.

Specification: 12.8 g, copper, 30 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-14; Bit-428.
