This specimen was lot 34721 in Heritage sale 3094 (Chicago, August 2021), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Richard II Groat ND (1377-1399) VF25 ANACS, London mint, Type II. With retrograde Z in legend. A reasonable, scarce type from this monarch, and the first Groat of Richard II that we have offered. In spite of clear friction that bounds the designation, the piece retains great legibility to the legends and intelligibility to the designs." The groat was fourpence.
