This specimen was lot 893 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "ENGLAND: Cnut, 1016-1035, AR penny, York, ND (1024-30), pointed helmet type, moneyer Wolfnoth, very lightly toned, lustrous, PCGS graded MS62." The reign of Cnut of Denmark saw the use of several designs of the silver penny as the moneyers tried to stay ahead of the counterfeiters.
