This ten centavos was minted for El Salvador 1921-1972. This date is a product of the San Francisco mint, which also produced the five centavos. On the obverse of the coin is the image of Francisco Morazán, who defeated Guatemalan attempts to conquer Central America, thereby securing Salvadoran independence.
