Heritage sale 3024, lot 24004

This specimen was lot 24004 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Eichstatt. Johan Anton III Taler 1783, AU55 NGC, nicely toned and original, two dark spots on the reverse. A well-struck Taler with considerable mint luster. Sold with a very old collector's tag in German."

The bishopric of Eichstatt, now in Bavaria, occasionally issued coins. This thaler was minted in Munich along with a 1/2 thaler of the same design.
