The coin shown is a billon ten para from the reign of Sultan Mahmud II. It was struck at the Cairo Mint. The obverse bears the toughra, or signature, of the sultan enclosed by an ornate border. The date is written on the reverse as AH 1223 year 23, which translates to about 1829 AD.
The specimen shown was for sale as of May 2011 by Münzenwelt Mikeska, for $97. The catalog description reads "Ägypten 10 Para SS 1223/24.". Note: item mislabeled as year 24.
