This specimen was lot 43115 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "EGYPT. Gold 1/2 Pound, AH 1418/1997. Cairo Mint. PCGS MS-66. A RARE modern commemorative gold issue, with pleasing lustrous brilliance and charming sharp details." The auctioneers attributed this rare piece to KM 947, which is a gold one pound of similar design.

Recorded mintage: 200 struck, 142 sold.

Specification: 4 g, 0.875 fine gold, 18 mm diameter.
