Egypt 1938 millieme KM-358

King Farouk was the second ruler of the Kingdom of Egypt, coming to the throne in 1936. The coinage of his reign was similar to his father, King Fuad I. He was, among other things, an avid coin collector and pieces from his collection still circulate in the market today. He abdicated after widespread discontent in 1952, at which point Egypt became a republic and officially terminated the monarchy. This coin is a bronze one millieme. The obverse has the portrait of King Farouk, and the reverse has the denomination, year in both the Muslim and Christian calendar (1938 AD - AH 1357), and the text 'Kingdom of Egypt' in Arabic.
