This specimen was lot 1722 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 4,500 CHF (about US$6,040 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Eggenberg, Herzogtum, Johann Anton, 1634-1649. Taler 1642, Krumau. Sehr selten. Sehr schön. Feine Patina. (Austrian states, duchy of Eggenberg, John Anton, 1634-49, thaler of 1642, Krumau mint. Very rare, Very fine, Nicely toned.)"
This coin was minted in 1642-44 for the obscure Austrian family of Eggenberg. This type is rare, like all the issues from this locale.
