This specimen was lot 45775 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. Cent, 1969. PCGS MS-65 Red. F.A.O. Issue." The F.A.O. issues were a series of coins issued to raise funds and promote the activities of the Food and Agriculture Organization, a bureau of the United Nations. The series began with great acclaim in 1968 and continued until dwindling away in the early 1980's. This type was struck 1969 only.
