This specimen was lot 811 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 28 (Winter Park, FL, November 2020), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "Dominican Republic, copper-nickel 1/2 peso, 1968, NGC MS 67, 'top pop.' Good luster and very faint toning, very minimal marks, tied with one other for finest known in the NGC census over 40 other entries." The specimen shown is from a type struck 1967-1968 to supersede the previous silver issues. The issue of 1973 and 1975 is similar but has a reeded edge.

Reported Mintage: 600,000.

Specification: copper-nickel, 30.5 mm diameter.
