Dominican Rep 1956 10 centavos rev DSLR.jpg

The specimen shown is from a type struck for the Dominican Republic in 1937-61. This date was at the end of the regime of Rafael Trujillo, among the more brutal of Latin America's long roll of bloodthirsty dictators. Copper-nickel coins using this design were issued 1967, 1973 and 1975.

Recorded mintage: 1,000,000.

Specification: 2.50 g, 0.900 fine silver, 17.9 mm diameter, designed by T. H. Paget.

Catalog reference: KM 19.
