This specimen was lot 75198 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $854. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Deventer. 28 Stuivers (Florin), 1685. In the name of Ferdinand II. NGC MS-63. SCARCE." The SCWC notes this type for 1685-92. It was worth approximately one gulden. The date is above the crowned arms. After decades of disputes, the United Provinces ended all the city issues at the end of the seventeenth century. Among the chronic problems was fraud, with many city issues underweight and debased.
