Denmark 1930-N 2 kroner
This specimen was lot 226 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $193.60. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Christian X. 1912-1947. AR 2 Kroner. København (Copenhagen) mint. Niels Peter Nielsen, mintmaster. Andreas Frederik Vilhelm Hansen. Harald Solomon, engraver. Dated 1930 AH N HS. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 67. Toned gem UNC. Highest ever graded." Altho Denmark was neutral in World War One, it was subject to the same higher prices for raw materials. The two kroner was converted to aluminum bronze in 1924 and struck to that standard until 1959. Commemoratives, such as this one, continued to be issued in silver.
