Denmark 1898-VBP krone
This specimen was lot 33853 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "Denmark: Christian IX Krone 1898 HC-VBP MS66 PCGS, Copenhagen mint. Benefitting from a quality strike, the detail on the piece is needle-sharp, the surfaces demonstrating a smooth transition of color from lighter to darker silver hues, creating a magnificent visual appeal. From the Feeling Good Collection." This type was struck 1898 only for Christian IX (1863-1906) as king of Denmark. It was part of the decimal reform instituted in 1874. This issue is not rare but is much less often seen than the commemorative two kroner such as KM 800. The next one krone would be issued in 1915 (KM 819).
Recorded mintage: 201,000.
Specification: 7.5 g, 0.800 fine silver, .192 troy oz ASW.
Catalog reference: KM 797.2.
