Denmark 1886-CS 10 ore
This specimen was lot 1099 in Sincona sale 73 (Zürich, November 2021), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$129 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DENMARK, Christian IX. 1863-1906. 10 Öre 1886, Kopenhagen. Vorzüglich-FDC. (kingdom of Denmark, Christian IX, 1863-1906, ten øre of 1886, Copenhagen mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1874-75, 1882-91, of which only the 1889 and 1891 are common. It is part of the reform of 1874 which decimalized Danish coinage, dropping the old skillings, rigsbankdalers and fredericks d'or. This coin was struck to the same standard as the Swedish ten öre.
