This specimen was lot 23416 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $95. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Ore, 1874-CS. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IX. PCGS MS-64 Red Gold Shield. A lovely, sharply struck coin with full mint red." Danish currency endured several "reforms" in the nineteenth century. In 1874, the coinage was reformed again to the current system of 100 øre = one krone. This type was struck 1874-92 for Christian IX (1863-1906) as king of Denmark. It is common as a type but many of the dates are rare.
