Denmark 1762-HSK 24 skilling

from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 10354

This specimen was lot 10354 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €264 (about US$275). The catalog description^[1] noted, "DENMARK. 24 Skilling, 1762-HSK. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik V. NGC AU-58. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This denomination was revived in 1731 and struck fairly regularly until 1783. It was worth one-third krone or one quarter speciedaler. This type was struck with initials "PNVH" for 1750 and 1753-59 and with initials "HSK" for 1762-64. It is common in worn condition.
