Denmark 1726 ducat Fr-224
This specimen was lot 880 in CNG Triton XXVIII (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $5,053.12. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Frederik IV. 1699-1730. AV Ducat. København (Copenhagen) mint. Dated 1726. Armored and draped bust right / Crowned and collared coat-of-arms. In NGC encapsulation 6931384-007, graded AU 58. Very rare. Only three in CoinArchives. Top Pop. From the Drewry Family Collection. Ex El Dorado (14 July 1984), lot 19." The SCWC lists this type for 1709, 1723 and 1726 altho each date has a distinctly different design. All are very rare and it's unlikely the average collector will ever assemble a set of all three dates.
