Stack's Bowers November 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 76410

This specimen was lot 76410 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Krone, 1661. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik III. PCGS Genuine--Repaired, EF Details. From the Richard August Collection." This type is listed for 1654-61 in numerous varieties. One krone was four mark or two-thirds speciedaler. A four mark was also struck at the Glückstadt mint in Holstein; it has the date on the shield side and mintmaster's initials "IS".

Specification: 22.27 g, 0.671 fine silver, 43 mm diameter.
