This specimen was lot 10071 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €960 (about US$1,001). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Skilling, 1579. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik ll. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. Mint master: Poul Gulden. Scarce single year type with steel gray toning. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex. Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922). Ex: Christoph Daniel von Kreber Collection. Ex: George Friderich Timm Collection." We don't know why this specimen is so overweight.
