This specimen was lot 4019 in Goldberg sale 67 (Los Angeles, January 2012), where it sold for $1,610. The catalog description[1] noted, "Denmark. Spe[c]iedaler, 1572. Frederik II, 1559-1588. Bust left dividing date. Reverse: Crowned arms in border. Fields cleaned and tooled on both sides. PCGS called Genuine (Surfaces Smoothed), Our grade Very Fine." The next issue of a speciedaler would be in 1590 (Dav-8230).
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
Specification: 29.2 g, 0.875 fine silver.
