This specimen was lot 13316 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $1,528. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. Danzig. 5 Gulden, 1935. NGC MS-64." This type is a commemorative five gulden issued for Danzig in 1935 along with a ten gulden. Danzig, long part of Prussia and then Germany, was briefly independent 1919-39. Annexed by the Nazis, it fell to Poland in 1945 and was renamed Gdansk.
