This specimen was lot 20356 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $1,645. The catalog description[1] noted, "DANISH WEST INDIES. 10 Skilling, 1847. PCGS PROOF-65 CAMEO Secure Holder. Tied with one other piece at PCGS and NGC for finest graded, and the only coin to receive the CAMEO designation. A magnificent example with a deep concave impression received from the dies, and highly reflective mirrored fields. Totally free of spots and meticulously preserved. For those collectors attracted to Danish West Indies coinage, a terrific reminder of why it is such a compelling country to collect." This type, which is priced fairly cheaply in circulated condition, was issued in 1840, 1845 and 1847. Ninety six skilling made a daler.
