Steve Album sale 51, lot 813

This specimen was lot 813 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "CZECH REPUBLIC: AR 200 korun, 1998, specimen issue, 800th Anniversary of the Coronation of the Czech King Premysl I Otakar, PCGS graded Specimen 69, RR." Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1992. Other 200 korun for 1998 include KM 30 (Charles University), KM 31 (Frantisek Palacky) and KM 33 (Frantisek Kmoch). Wikipedia comments, "Ottokar I (Czech: Přemysl Otakar I.; c. 1155 – 1230) was Duke of Bohemia periodically beginning in 1192, then acquired the title of...first hereditary King of Bohemia."

Recorded mintage: 16,842 plus 2,991 proofs (3,116 later melted).

Specification: 13 g, 0.900 fine silver, 31 mm diameter, reeded edge.
