Sincona Auction 103, lot 996

This specimen was lot 996 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 190 CHF (about US$290 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Tschechische Republik, seit 1992. 200 Korun 1994, Royal Mint Llantrisant. 13.00 g. 50 Jahre D-Day, Landung der Alliierten in der Normandie. Selten. Nur 4'082 Exemplare geprägt. Polierte Platte. (Czech Republic, since 1992, 200 korun of 1994, struck by the Royal Mint, fiftieth anniversary of the D-Day landing in Normandy. Rare. Only 4,082 specimens struck, Choice Proof.)"

Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1992. Other NCLT's of this denomination for 1994 included KM 11 (St. Vitus Cathedral), KM 13 (Brno tram) and KM 14 (Protection of the Environment).

Recorded mintage: 20,929 plus 4,082 proofs.

Specification: 13 g, 0.900 fine silver, 31 mm diameter, designed by Jarmila Truhlíková-Spěváková. The regular strikes had a reeded edge, the proofs had a plain edge.
