This specimen was lot 74731 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "CYPRUS. Piastre, 1942. London Mint. George VI. PCGS MS-63 Brown." This type was struck 1942-46 and this is a better date. It superseded a copper-nickel piastre struck in 1938 (KM 23). Nine piastres made a shilling until 1955.

Recorded mintage: 1,260,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 5.22 g, bronze, 23 mm diameter.
