This specimen was lot 512 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "CYPRUS. Piastre, 1887. NGC MS-64 RB. Choice with semi-prooflike surfaces." This type, one-ninth of a shilling, was struck in small numbers 1879-1900 with the late subtype dating 1881-1900. It is not rare in low grade.

Recorded mintage: 45,000.
