This specimen was lot 22252 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "CYPRUS. Piastre, 1879. PCGS MS-63 BN Secure Holder. Narrow '1' in denomination. A single point from finest graded at PCGS. Even brown tone with a stunning aquamarine and periwinkle sheen that is best appreciated in hand. A well struck beauty that is sure to enhance the collection it joins." This type, one-ninth of a shilling, was struck in small numbers 1879-1900. It is not rare in low grade.

Recorded mintage: 250,000 plus proofs.
