This specimen was lot 1503 in Aureo y Calicó sale 246 (Barcelona, September 2012), where it sold for 50 € (about US$76 including buyer's fees). The catalog[1] noted,
"Cuba. 1996. Cuba. 20 pesos. Fauna del Caribe - Cartacuba. Proof. (Cuba, 1996 twenty pesos. Fauna of the Caribbean--Cartacuba bird. Proof.)"
This type is listed in the SCWC but without a photo. Desperate for foreign exchange, Cuba has issued large numbers of NCLT's, many only vaguely related to Cuba. This one shows the recent fad for multicolored coins.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 40 g, silver, 38 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 840.
