Production of this coin began in 2023 when Croatia joined the euro. It was struck for circulation 2023-2024 but the 2025-26 issue appears to be for collector sets only. The use of coin is rapidly declining in Europe. Engineer and inventor Nikola Tesla is honored on the obverse.

Recorded mintage: 65,008,979 plus 30,500 for BU sets plus 500 proofs.

Specification: 7.8 g, brass (89% Cu-5% Al-5% Zn-1% Sn), 24.25 mm diameter, indented edge.
