Corvey in 1789, to the east of Paderborn on the Weser river

This specimen was lot 3865 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,600 (about US$2,094 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"CORVEY, ABTEI, Maximilian von Horrich, 1714-1721. Reichstaler 1721, Münster. RR Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (Germany, abbey of Corvey, Maximilian of Horrich, 1714-21, thaler of 1721, Munster mint. Rare, handsome patina, extremely fine.)"

This abbey was merged with Nassau in 1803 and later with Prussia.

Specification: 27.95-29.52 g, silver, 44 mm diameter, this specimen 29.20 g.
