This specimen was lot 290 in Bolaffi Auction 42 (Turin, Italy, December 2022), where it sold for 1,100 EUR (about US$1,399 including buyer's fees). The lot description noted,

(principality of Correggio, Siro d'Austria, undated ducatone. Obverse: armored bust of the prince to right; reverse: crowned arms, order chain around. Very rare, about very fine.)"

The counts, later princes, of Correggio used their mint to strike imitations of other coins. In 1630, Siro d'Austria was fined by emperor Ferdinand for uttering false coin and he was forced to sell his principality to the duke of Modena. This ducaton is among his last issues.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
