This specimen was lot 38003 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "COOK ISLANDS. Gold 100 Dollars, 1977-FM. Pennsylvania (Franklin) Mint. Elizabeth II. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Issued for the Queen's Silver Jubilee." The Cook Islands, like many small, impoverished nations, has contracted with private mints to produce and market a large variety of commemoratives sold in lands far from the issuing country.

Recorded mintage: 50 matte uncirculated plus 562 prooflike plus 9,364 proofs.

Specification: 9.6 g, 0.900 fine gold, 26 mm diameter, 0.2778 troy oz AGW.
