Colombia 1932-M 50 centavos
The first specimen was part of lot 44455 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Lot of (4) 50 Centavos, 1902-1932. Various Mints. AU-58 (2) & MS-62 (2) (PCGS). ...1932-M. KM-192, KM-186.2, and KM-193.2, Restrepo types 411, 413, and 415. ...only the 1932-M exhibits dark gray toning, remainder are untoned. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." The second specimen was part of lot 44484 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Lot of (6) 50 Centavos, 1932. Various Mints. AU-58, MS-61, MS-62, & MS-63 (3) (PCGS). ...1932-M, and 1932 (no mintmark), KM-193.1 and KM-193.2, Restrepo type 414 and 415. All blast white or with only faint toning, except for the 1932-M, which is moderately toned. ...From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type was struck at Medellin 1914-22, 1932-33 with a profusion of varieties and overdates. For this date, a rare 1932/22 overdate is noted.
