Colombia 1933/23 50 centavos

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 ANA sale, part of lot 44479

This specimen was part of lot 44479 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $70. The catalog description^[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Lot of (3) 50 Centavos, 1923 & 1933. Various Mints. AU-53, AU-58, & MS-61 (PCGS). 3 pieces in lot. ...1933/23 Medellin nice clear overdate AU-53, boldly struck with abundant luster in fields and lightly gray toned, ...From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This somewhat scarce variety lacks a mintmark but is identified as a Medellin product by the round top threes.

Recorded mintage: 800,000 (including 1933-M).

Specification: 12.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .143 troy oz ASW.
