Colombia 1926 5 pesos
The first specimen was part of lot 40455 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Lot of (6) 5 Pesos, 1919-26. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shields. Fr-113 & 115; KM-201.1 & 204. Each coin is beautiful and lustrous with yellow-gold surfaces. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." The second specimen was part of lot 40457 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $1,140. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. A foursome of MS-63 (PCGS) 5 Pesos. Included are 1920-A; 1924-B; 1924; 1926. (Total: 4 pieces). From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type was struck 1924-30 and is common. The year 1926 comes with many minor date and mintmark varieties.

Specification: 7.99 g, 0.917 fine gold, .234 troy oz AGW (same standard as a British sovereign).
