This specimen was lot 23660 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,468.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 8 Escudos 1830-RS Bogotá, AU58 NGC, highly lustrous with typical small surface abrasions, very little wear evident." This type was struck at Popayán 1822-36 and at Bogotá 1822-38. It was superseded by the quasi-decimal sixteen pesos issued at both mints 1837-49. Both types are common enough that some attempt to collect complete date sets.
