This specimen was lot 40104 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1816-JF Escudo. Popayán mint. Ferdinand VII (1808-1833). VF-30 (PCGS). The first of several varieties this year, featuring three different assayers (JF, F, and FR) and two different mintmarks (P and Pn). Light yellow gold with a bulged central obverse limiting the detail at the centers of both sides. Well centered and attractive. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Don Canaparo, June 1981." This type was struck in Popayán 1808-19.
