This specimen was lot 74544 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $129. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Cologne. Pfennig, ND (1421). Theodoric II. PCGS VF-30." The Weißpfennig or blanken was struck by the archbishops of Trier, Mainz and Cologne at Coblenz, starting in the late fourteenth century. It became popular because of its good alloy. It was eventually copied by numerous petty princes along the Rhine. This prelate is generally listed by the German form of his name, Dietrich II von Moers.
