Sincona sale 97, lot 1190

This specimen was lot 1190 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$261 including buyers' fees). The catalog description^[1] noted, "CHINA Volksrepublik. 5 Yuan 1999, Shenyang Mint. Panda. Grosse Jahreszahl ohne Serife. FDC. In Originalverschweissung. (Peoples Republic of China, five yuan of 1999, Shenyang mint, panda series, Large date plain 1, Mint State, In original capsule.)" Other five yuan for 1999 included KM 1213 and 1214. China's deluge of NCLT's was in full spate in 1999.
