This specimen was lot 5451 in Goldberg sale 72 (Los Angeles, February 2013), where it sold for $690. The catalog description[2] noted, "China. 35 Yuan, 1979. Silver. UNICEF and IYC. Year of the Child. Childeren planting a flower. NGC graded Proof 67 Ultra Cameo." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more. This NCLT was accompanied by a gold 450 yuan.
Recorded mintage: 1,000 with matte finish plus 14,000 proofs.
Specification: 19.44 g, 0.800 fine silver, .500 troy oz ASW.
