The specimen shown is a type struck in Chile 1932-33, 1937-41. It superseded a similar copper-nickel type was struck 1920-33. The succeeding type was bronze (KM 177). Oscar Roty's defiant condor, first used in 1895, appeared on virtually all Chilean silver and copper-nickel coins until 1940.
Recorded mintage: 9,300,000 (most common date).
