The specimen shown is a type struck in Chile 1921-29. It superseded the previous type (KM 151.3) which was billon. A similar copper-nickel type was struck 1932-41, whereupon the denomination was changed to copper (KM 177). Oscar Roty's defiant condor, first used in 1895, appeared on virtually all Chilean silver and copper-nickel coins until 1940.

Recorded mintage: 16,096,000 (most common date).
