This specimen was lot 22422 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE. 10 Pesos, 1860-So. Santiago Mint. NGC AU-55. Lightly toned and lustrous, this handsome specimen offers problem free surfaces and original charm. A minor golden-orange hue simply adds further charm. Ex: Eliasberg Collection." This specimen was one of a series struck 1854-67 in Santiago. An earlier and a later type exist (KM 123 and KM 145), with slightly different designs for the arms and the standing Liberty.

Recorded mintage: 31,000.

Specification: 15.253 g, 0.900 fine gold, .441 troy oz AGW.
