This specimen was lot 71420 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE. 4 Reales, 1803-So FJ. Santiago Mint. Charles IV. PCGS EF-45. A stunning example of this SCARCE date. Well-struck and gently handled, the coin displays crisp detail with impressive boldness. The bright surfaces exhibit lovely dove gray toning and flashes of luster. Minor marks and specks of encrustation are visible, but only attest to the coin's originality. Seldom encountered in such appealing and wholesome condition, this piece will be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters. From the Pat Johnson Collection."
